At up to 17km long (if skiing to Chamonix) the Vallee Blanche is a wild experience. If you enjoy skiing off-piste, then this is a trip not to be missed.
You will be privately guided throughout the journey by an IFMGA Qualified Mountain Guide who knows the glacier intimately.
You will meet your Guide at 09.00 in the cafe Vertical. This is located in the bottom station of the Aiguille du Midi lift station. You will need the following for the day:
MBU lift pass
Drinks and snacks.
Lunch (packed lunch, or CASH if stopping at the Refuge du Requin for lunch).
Warm Clothing including sunglasses and spare gloves
Rucksack: with avalanche safety gear, crampons, harness and spare warm clothing.
Skis, poles, boots. Please let us know whether there are any snowboarders in the group. Snowboarders are recommended to bring collapsible poles to help on flat sections.
We can provide safety gear, crampons and harnesses at no extra cost - please let us know in advance if you need to borrow them.
Your Guide will contact you the night before to confirm the details of the day.
NB: If weather, conditions, or your ski ability do not allow a descent of the Vallée Blanche your Guide will take you elsewhere. We do not offer refunds for these reasons. If possible we will re-schedule to another day, but often this is not possible.
